What we do:

Through community events, collaborations, and educational initiatives, we aim to support blues artists and contribute to the thriving live music scene.

Join us in fostering a vibrant community of blues enthusiasts and musicians.

Established in 2023 and incorporated in 2024, the Red Deer Blues Society works with local venues, community organizations and musicians to create, plan and present live blues music in Red Deer and the surrounding area.

To date, we have produced 18 concerts, a one-day festival and hosted several new acts to help kick off their presence in Red Deer.

This fall we will be presenting an education series in partnership with the Red Deer Public Library. Sessions will be held bi-monthly from September to May, featuring local musicians, teachers, sound technicians and recording studios.

We will be featuring Bassist, Curtis Phagoo, Sound Production, Carl Stretton, Recording Studio Engineer, Jesse Roades, Guitarist and Band Leader Kurt Hanson, and Vocalist Sue Dahlseide.
